Ashish Hegde's wedding reception @ Vaishnavi Sabha Bhavana_14th Nov 2010

Congratulations Ashish..... You guys make a great couple.

Highlights
* I was assuming that i will bump into several of my teachers from MJC at the reception as  the grooms father was my Math teacher in school..... I wanted to talk to them, tell them that i was all grown-up, married  (took my wife along to the reception as well, just in case they didnt believe me). I wanted to tell them that i work for a good company in Manipal and share with them the fact that, i was not a complete failure in life just the way most of them predicted i would be ,whenever i was caught for some of my historic pranks in school.....
My Physics lecturer in college was sure i would end up collecting and selling cow-dung for a living....( He told me that every single freaking day of college)

Just as i entered the hall, i saw my Kannada teacher - Mr. Umamaheshwar Hegde - He stood there smiling & greeting everybody...... expect me.....I jumped infront of him couple of times, but he refused to recognise me. I had to grab his hand and introduce myself. It took a couple of seconds for him to recognise me & told me that i have changed a lot... I was happy that i heard what i expected. He quickly added that i put on way too much weight since the last time he saw me and it was difficult for him to recognise me...
I decided to avoid all other teachers for the day.......

Then, i went on to the stage to wish the lovely couple.... Ashish was polite enough to introduce me to his wife as his "senior". He insisted that we stand for the customary photograph and told me not to miss lunch.
I sucked in my tummy and gave my best smile. CLICK. There! the snap was taken and i turned to Ashish and told him that the flowers were from all BBC gang friends and Suresh Babu could not make it as he is travelling on business.... He thanked me and loudly declared - "You have put on some serious weight man". I smiled and escaped in a jiffy.....

Now, that the wishing formalities were over and i was damn sure that i missed the batch for lunch and had to wait for the next batch... went over and sat with my wifey dear listening to the lovely Kishore Kumar & Dr. Rajkumar's songs performed by a live orchestra..... I thought they were really cool.
I started singing along. My wife told me to either stop singing or we leave the hall that minute...

I just sat there listening to both the songs and my wife narate the story of how much she wanted to learn music as a child and how her dad denied her....blah blah blah.......

Time flew and as you know it, it was time for lunch.... mad rush ... push and shove... grab a seat ,......

Lunch was good... I thought the Gajar ka Halwa was really good , but then came the "Chiroti", which, ended up as the best!
